Around 1983, Dr. Tim Rost and his wife Dr. Radha Rost played a leading role in the establishment of The New Era Development Institute (NEDI), which provides vocational training. Students from all over the world come to learn here.
\\nIn keeping with the emphasis on world peace, which is an essential aspect of the Bahai faith, Dr. Rost specialized in Peace Education, and has a number of publications to his credit on this theme. In the nineties, he introduced it as a subject in the New Era School.
\\nIn 1997, on his initiative a group of teachers and students from Telemark University College (Hi T), Norway came to Panchgani to collaborate with NEDI on a project to develop material for Peace Education and Environmental Education in Indian Schools. Over a period of four years, the project worked to develop material for the Teacher Training programme. Since Dr. Rost had already developed many of the lesson plans, the participants were able to observe the actual lessons in practice.
