Kris Ankarlo Reports: Metro has started digging on the second section of the Purple Line subway.
Metro has broken ceremonial ground on the second section of the Purple Line subway. Metro CEO Phil Washington says when the entire line is finished it'll connect Westwood with downtown LA.
Washington says the work on the first section of the Purple Line under Wilshire Boulevard is about 30 percent done. The second section will stretch tunnels to Beverly Hills and will cost about $2.5 billion.
