Weight Watchers is facing growing backlash from parents after launching a weight loss app for children. Tens of thousands have signed a Change.org petition calling the decision \u201cdangerous, irresponsible and immoral\u201d and suggested that the app could encourage eating disorders. In a press release announcing \u201cKurbo by WW,\u201d the company said the app is a \u201ca scientifically-proven behavior change program designed to help kids and teens ages 8-17 reach a healthier weight, derived from Stanford University's Pediatric Weight Control Program.
