Facial recognition is yet another technology that has the potential to invade our lives. On one end of the spectrum, San Francisco is banning it entirely. On the other end, China is using it on its entire population. Brad discusses how facial recognition works, what are the concerns and how if used responsibility can better protect us. Using to identify terrorists in a crowd, locating missing children, keeping track of foreign travelers and catching ATM thieves are just a few of the possibilities of the beneficial uses of facial recognition. But in the wrong hands, like China literally scanning its entire population or law enforcement using it without other supporting evidence, individuals or groups could be wrongly accused. Joining Tony with a discussion is ABC Crime and Terrorism Analyst Brad Garrett.
