Binh Danh is a photographer based in San Jose, CA. Using both historical photographic processes and his unique chlorophyll prints\\u2014using photosynthesis to embed images into leaves\\u2014Binh makes haunting and resonant images about war, aftermath, landscape, and memory. In our conversation, Binh and I talked about his creative process, his interest in history, and the deep connections between all things. Then in the second segment we took a moment to acknowledge the recent passing of legendary photographer Robert Frank, then talked about the aesthetics of smoke.
