Happy to introduce episode 21 of Environmental Professionals.  This episode is about Environmental Justice in the United States.   Diamond is the Founder and President of Millennials 4 Environmental Justice (M4EJ). Passionate about social and environmental justice, Diamond started M4EJ in order to inform, engage, and advocate for environmental justice among communities that suffer disproportionately from adverse health, social, and economic outcomes associated with barriers within our neighborhoods.  Diamond began her education studying Environmental Policy and Analysis, until she then went on to earn her MPH in Global Health, Community Development, and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) from Emory University. In her professional and educational career, Diamond has reached many milestones including earning the William H. Sterner Memorial Award, the Elmore Manufacturing Award, and most recently, the Outstanding APE Award in 2020. Diamond has contributed her career to fighting for environmental and social justices across low-income communities of color. Ms. Spratling has spent her career in many capacities including time spent at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, serving on grant committees, developing curricula for environmental justice courses, leading research studies both globally and locally, and currently working as a Health Equity and GIS Fellow for Bloomberg Associates.
