Environmental Professionals Episode 18: John Algo (climate action and sustainable development in the Philippines)

Happy to introduce Episode 17 of Environmental Professionals.   This episode is about climate action and sustainable development in the Philippines.   John is the Program Manager of Living Laudato Si Philippines (LLS), an interfaith movement campaigning for the divestment of major financial institutions from fossil fuels and the empowerment of citizens for lifestyle and attitudinal shifts towards sustainability. He is currently an interim member of the Secretariat of Aksyon Klima Pilipinas, the country's largest network of civil society groups for climate action. He has actively represented the Philippines and the youth sector in different capacities during global and regional UN climate conferences since 2017. As a citizen journalist, he has written climate and environmental stories and op-eds since 2016, with articles published in international and local media platforms such as The Huffington Post, Asia Sentinel, Rappler, Sun Star, and The Manila Times. He is one of the co-authors of the first Philippine Climate Change Assessment Report series, the local equivalent to the IPCC reports.
