Happy to introduce Episode 10 of Environmental Professionals. This episode is about PhD candidacy, Climate Justice and Smart Cities in India. Hariprasad VM is a native of Kerala State of India and earned his bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering. Further, he shifted his interest into environmental studies domain and completed his masters from TERI University,New Delhi. During his masters he was exposed to different areas including rural development, biodiversity conservation, wildlife conservation. After completing his masters, he worked as a teaching fellow with Ashoka University for sometime and then moved to Azim Premji University in Bangalore. He explored the area of urban ecology there and then shifted his interest to disaster and communities. This was after his home state Kerala faced 'great flood of the century' in 2018. He worked for 8 months in flood and landslide affected communities in Kerala before he moved to IIT Bombay for his PhD degree.
