Leon F. "Lee" Ellis\xa0(born October 9, 1943) is a retired\xa0United States Air Force\xa0colonel, award-winning author, speaker, and consultant.[1]\xa0Ellis gained notoriety when, as a\xa0fighter pilot\xa0in the\xa0Vietnam War, he was shot down, captured, and spent\xa05+1\u20442\xa0years as a prisoner of war in\xa0Hanoi\xa0and surrounding areas with former presidential candidate and Senator\xa0John McCain\xa0(R-AZ) and others.[2]\xa0His capture occurred on November 7, 1967, and he was released on March 14, 1973.[3]\xa0He was one of the youngest, junior members in the camps.[2]\xa0Ellis is an international speaker and consultant on the subjects of leadership and human performance.
