b'Tonight we talk about an aspect of being a working, touring musician that isn\'t talked about that much. But it is an important one. Things have changed for some bands that are touring thoughout the USA, Europe and all over the globe. In the old days you would take all of your gear with you, all the amps guitars, and sometimes your P.A. system. With the high cost of traveling, especially flying, that is simply not cost effective or possible. Now, musicians contract out a "backline" - they hire a company, or companies, to supply them with amps and whatever they else they need. My guest is Joel Dodson, who is the owner of TSV Sound and Vision, a company specializing on supplying backline for various groups throughout the USA. We talk to Joel about what is required of him by groups and what it takes to get the equipment on time to the gig for the musicians. Also joining me are two musicians, both actively touring here and abroad. Cathy Lauer is one of the guitarists of Systyr Skin-herd, an all women group specializing in playing Lynyrd Skynyrd music, fresh off a tour of Europe. Also joining me is Steve Fister, who regularly tours here and in Europe with his band. Together we talk about what a backline company can do for you, and how to get what you want and need for your next gig away from home!'
