b'Ed Penrose at The Irish Labour History Society (ILHS) which was established in 1973, with a founding objective to; \\u2018promote the knowledge of Irish labour and of Irish people in labour history abroad and labour history in general; the appreciation of the importance of labour history in the educational curriculum; and the preservation of all records and reminiscences, oral and written, relating to the current and past experiences of the Irish working class and its organisations\\u2019. The Society is today a registered charity (CHY15829), with a premises in Beggars Bush, Dublin that includes an extensive collection of Irish labour history records. The collections are open to researchers Monday-Friday, by prior appointment. Saothar : Journal of the Irish Labour History Society is published annually and has gained an international audience and generated much critical acclaim in historiographical reviews. Members of the Society receive a complimentary copy with their annual membership. The Society also regularly publishes other items of relevance to the history of Irish workers, their leaders and organisations. A regular programme of events is also organised for members.'
