The third edition of the conference took place on the 1st and 2nd of December in Dingle, Co Kerry.Minister For Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys T.D launched Ireland\'s Edge 2017, joined by Other Voices founder Philip King and Eamonn Sinnott, Vice President and General Manager of Intel, lead sponsors of the conference.Minister Humpreys said "Irish artists, designers, thinkers and engineers have always been close to the edge of where new things happen, so it is fitting that the conference will focus on our country\\u2019s powerful tradition of invention and innovation in the context of a changing world. As Minister for Culture, I am delighted to be in a position to support eir Other Voices. The festival encapsulates the spirit of Pillar 5 of my Department\\u2019s Creative Ireland programme, which focuses on unifying Ireland\\u2019s global reputation.\\u201dIreland\\u2019s Edge brings together high-level influencers and thinkers from a range of sectors including members of the diaspora community, FDI companies, artists, academics, commentators and policy makers. Professor and Director of the 3A Institute at the Australian National University and Senior Fellow at Intel; John Gerrard, internationally acclaimed Irish artist; Emer Reynolds, Emmy nominated, multi-award winning documentary director and feature film editor; Emmet Connolly, Director of Product Design at Intercom; Dr. Nora N\\xed Loideain, Lecturer in Law and Director of the Information Law and Policy Centre at the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies; Frances Coppola, Forbes contributor and author of finance & economics blog, the Coppola Comment; Dr. Christopher Kissane, Historian, journalist and writer on migration, and a former lecturer in Economic History at London School of Economics & Political Science; Ciaran Cannon, T.D.
