The very best of Cape Breton Island is showcased during nine magical days and nights of music, dance, scenery, and hospitality when Celtic Colours International Festival presents 50 concerts and more than 200 cultural experiences in communities all over the Island, October 11-19 The 28th Festival opens on Friday, October 11 at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre with \u201cLet\u2019s Go Up Home Tonight\u201d. This exciting concert revisits a very popular and influential local television program from the 1980s that showcased musicians and dancers from the region, including Cape Bretoners Ashley MacIsaac, J.P. Cormier, Wendy MacIsaac, Hilda Chiasson, Howie MacDonald, Brenda Stubbert, Melody (Warner) Cameron and Kelly (Warner) MacLennan, and Kinnon and Betty Beaton, among many others. Host and co-creator of the show, Gordon Stobbe, will be on hand to welcome these performers and more back to the stage.
