Consul General of Ireland to Toronto

b'Consul General Janice McGann is from Dublin and joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2006. She was appointed as Consul General of Ireland in Toronto in August 2022. Before taking up her assignment in Toronto, Janice served as Deputy Director in the EU Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin, focusing on bilateral relations, EU policy issues and work of the General Affairs Council. At headquarters in the Department of Foreign Affairs, she has also worked on UN policy and as a Protocol officer, managing high-level visits to and from Ireland. In addition, Janice was seconded for two years to the Department of Taoiseach, to work on EU policy. Her previous diplomatic assignments include working as Deputy Head of Mission in Ireland\\u2019s Embassies in Lithuania and Brazil. Janice completed a Master in Business Administration at the University of Bath. She also holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from University College Dublin. She is accompanied on posting by her husband Daniel.'
