The state settled a huge lawsuit with its former AG

One of the items addressed by the Utah legislature in its special session this week was approving a $1.5 million settlement with former Attorney General John Swallow. Swallow left office in the midst of criminal proceedings that ultimately wound up being dismissed in court. Jim Bennett, one of this week's guest hosts, says he thinks the state made the right call to settle. That's because Jim sued the state back when he ran for Congress -- in order to get on the ballot as a third-party candidate. And he knows the state of Utah lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in fighting his lawsuit, when they could have just put him on the ballot in the first place.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
