Lincoln and leadership lessons

Published: June 16, 2020, 5:18 p.m.

Leadership is a quality we sorely need in this country. Leadership like Abraham Lincoln who was brave enough to stand up for his principles and call out the hypocrisy of a nation that declared "all men are created equal" while enslaving a significant portion of them. Lincoln who 162 years ago today had the audacity to claim "A house divided against itself cannot stand," amid an election year. Now generations later and in another election year, we are in need of similar brave, bold, and brilliant leadership to guide us through civil injustice, a medical pandemic, and an angrily divided nation. ‘Inside Sources with Boyd Matheson,’ Opinion Editor at Deseret News, takes you inside the latest political news and current events, providing higher ground for today's discussions.
