BIG WIN! NYC's Plan to Take City Retirees off Medicare Halted for Now
Manhattan State Supreme Court Judge Lyle Frank issued a permanent injunction barring the Adams administration from transferring the retirees from traditional Medicare coverage to a Medicare Advantage plan controlled by the private insurance giant Aetna. The switch would have gone into effect on September 1. While that won\u2019t be happening, the Adams administration has vowed to pursue an appeal to a higher court.
