This week, I\\u2019m talking with Jeff Aguiar, Theater and Literature Director for the North Carolina Arts Council. Jeff is a performing artist himself, as well as a PhD candidate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution Studies, studying the ways in which art is socially and politically engaged.
\\nWe discuss the ways that the NC Arts Council is making shifts to be more responsive to artist and community needs and more equitable in their funding practices, the role of art and dance in pushing shifts like these forward, and Jeff\\u2019s call to artists to be fully present wherever they are in their journey. In the last part of the episode, Jeff describes the grant programs the NC Arts Council is anticipating for 2022-23.
