Meet Bobbe, the current two-time World Champion Ironman Kona, Hawaii, which she won in 2018 and 2019 at ages 72 and 73. Bobbe ran her first marathon in her late 40’s, and she signed up for her first triathlon at age 57 before she even knew how to swim. She has now completed multiple marathons and triathlons, many of which she trained for while working as a full-time teacher, a career she began only after her youngest daughter was getting ready to leave for college. Bobbe shares what it was like to start a new job in her 40’s after raising her two daughters, and the trials and tribulations of competing with the best of the best to become a World Champion athlete in her 70’s.
