Mark Herzlich with Joe Z interview 9-13-22

Super Bowl Champion and all-American linebacker/tight end at Boston College Mark Herzlich joins ACCN following a seven-year NFL career with the New York Giants. Herzlich will serve as an analyst for ACC football game coverage as well as anchoring in studio.

During his time with the Giants,\xa0Herzlich\xa0was named as a finalist for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year\xa0Award,\xa0and\xa0won the United Way Gridiron Community Champion Award\xa0and the\xa0Ed Block Courage Award. While at Boston College,\xa0Herzlich\xa0earned all-America honors along with being named the 2008 ACC Defensive Player of the Year. The following year,\xa0Herzlich\xa0was diagnosed with Ewing\u2019s sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. In September 2009, after undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, radiation and surgery,\xa0Herzlich\xa0announced that he was cancer free live on ESPN\u2019s\xa0College Gameday.

He\xa0rejoined his teammates for the 2010 season, starting all 13 games and\xa0collecting\xa0the Rudy Award and the ACC\u2019s Brian Piccolo Award.
