You Cant Change People

You can\u2019t change people.\xa0 You can change your expectations.\xa0 You can set boundaries and make decisions about how much time and effort you give.\xa0 You can practice acceptance and letting go.\xa0
But you can\u2019t mold someone into who you want or need them to be. You can\u2019t force them to make a shift before they\u2019re ready. You can\u2019t ask them to become someone different than who they authentically are.
And this can hurt. That a person you care about can\u2019t show up for you in the way you need them to.\xa0 All you can do is decide where they fit in your life based on who they are, and not who you want them to be.
