Episode #049: Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight

Published: July 12, 2016, 7 a.m.

When 'Legends of the Dark Knight' debuted in 1989, it was already a historic book being the first Batman 'solo' publication since 'Batman' in over four decades. The first volume running from 1989 to 2007 with over 200 issues brought amazing creative teams to illustrate different aspects of the Batman and the mental and physical struggle he faces protecting Gotham. On this week's episode, Londyn and co-host Adam Silverstein we will discuss a few of the most memorable arcs within the first volume of this DC Comics series. We'll take a look how these 'early, unknown' and some re-written tales from LOTDK not only demonstrate the hero Batman represents, but also the influences it had on future Batman comics and other visual media. This show also marks the last time Adam Silverstein will be the regular co-host on 'History of the Batman with Londyn!' His presence has been an anchor to me and his guidance on the show has been amazing. The show would not be what it is today without his many contributions and I am eternally grateful to him for his patience and expertise. We all wish him well on his journey to Switzerland with his family. So tune into this fun and heartwarming episode!
