Happy Friday , treasured friends. October 11 is recognized by the UN as International Day of the Girl Day, a commemoration that I'd only learnt and made privy to this year. I woke up that morning immersed and mesmerized by stories of Afghan girls sharing their stories before and after leaving their country for better lives in the US, then later seeing colleagues, friends, industry allies, sharing their own versions of #thislittlegirlisme, sharing courageously their struggles and celebrating their triumphs and resilience. Inspired by the many stories I read and heard over October 11, International Day of the Girl Day, I came to you with a solo episode this weekend, inviting you to walk down memory lane with me as I recount and vulnerably share with you some of the significant pieces of my childhood, adolescent and adulthood that had directly or indirectly impacted my trajectory of life.\xa0
I hope this honest and raw sharing will encourage you to take a little time for yourself to do the same, be it subtly with your journal, or via a little bigger way through a friend, confidante, therapist, look back at these parts of your lives, celebrate how far you\u2019ve come, and give that 7 year old self of yours a big, warm, needed hug.\xa0
Some questions that you could journal on or talk to a confidante about could be:\xa0
I can't thank you enough for making space in your life and spending your precious time hanging out on the pod with me. I truly appreciate every single one of you and would love the opportunity to connect with you, so please, I invite you to come find me on Instagram and say hello @heartopenconvers_asians!
