Part One: RIP Adobe Flash
As the late, great Dick Clark once tried to say: “Dappy Dew Year!” Welcome to the first Hardly Focused episode of 2021, a year hopefully better than it’s predecessor. A full-house for this one; Jack, Kate, Mike and Nate together, both in-person and virtually!
Among some of the topics discussed to kick off the first new podcast of the year include the new season of Letterkenny, and Jack’s understanding of the legal process per 19 seasons of Law and Order. The group also covers how their respective holidays went, ranging from “low-key” to “watch my family member get stupid plastered!”
Elsewhere, the year begins with a notable death – that of Adobe Flash. Jack asks the room what their favorite Flash game or series was. Thanks to both YouTube and the Internet Archive, your favorite Flash cartoons and games still exist in some form – don’t fret!
Part Two: We Watch “All Gas No Brakes” at a Flat Earth Conference
Kate is introduced to the audio gold mine that is All Gas No Brakes. As previously featured, host Andrew Callaghan travels across the country to conventions and gatherings, interviewing America’s best. This time around, Jack features for the room one of Andrew’s early videos – “Flat Earth Conference.”
Part Three: How Far Into the Future Would You Want to See?
Jack begins this segment by pointing out the Grogu/Baby Yoda figure on Mike’s chair. Jack asks Mike and Nate if they think Grogu’s name was revealed too soon on The Mandalorian. This leads Mike into questioning how people think Rogue One is the worst film in the Star Wars franchise.
Meanwhile, Jack introduces a new segment on the show: “I Mustache You a Question!” Jack asks Mike and Nate: “Would you rather have the ability to see 10 minutes into the future or 150 years into the future?” This is how you get the wheels turning, people!
