Part One: Cyberpunk 2077 is Full of Bugs, Glitches, and Genitalia
It’s an important day for Hardly Focused! Longtime co-host Katie Crepeau joins Jack and Mike for this episode. Kate has not been this podcast since the re-brand earlier in 2020; her voice, outrageous takes, and lack of filter have been sorely missed.
Jack and Kate are playing Cyberpunk 2077. Resident show-dad Mike has little time for open world games, and is taking what time he does have in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Kate’s PC can run Cyberpunk like a beast; Jack’s struggles.
Jack tried to avoid Cyberpunk and instead began a new file in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a game that came out in 2011. Jack admits to having purchased Skyrim yet again. Maybe he’ll do the same with Cyberpunk, when he obtains a machine that can actually run it.
On a related note, Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot of bugs and glitches. One such bug results in your character’s genitals sticking out of their clothes. Jack and Kate spent a lot of time modifying their respective character’s junk… like, a lot.
Part Two: When Will You Get the COVID-19 Vaccine?
As of the day of this episode’s recording, Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine is slowly rolling out across the union. Not everyone will be able to get it right off the bat. Jack and Mike are waiting to get inoculated until the vaccine is widely available, while Kate will only get it if she absolutely has to.
While on the subject, Jack wonders if corporations will mandate that people get vaccinated before they can return to the workplace. Kate mentions all of the food she left behind in her office prior to the COVID lockdowns. Mike speculates the office vermin have already gone to town with the leftovers.
Part Three: Disney Announces a Ton of Star Wars and Marvel Entries
You know those monoliths that randomly appeared around the union and in Europe? Citing a friend’s Facebook post, Jack wonders if this is all just an elaborate viral marketing campaign for the next Cloverfield movie. Kate reminds the room that The Cloverfield Paradox, in fact, exists.
Meanwhile, Jack awoke the previous day to Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which serves as the de facto first season of Saved by the Bell. Kate mentions that Saved by the Bell is playing in marathons on multiple channels. The group briefly discuss shows they awake to when the TV is left on overnight.
Elsewhere, Jack, Kate and Mike discuss all of the shows and movies announced at Disney’s investor’s call. A casual fan, Jack expects to go into each new Star Wars show without knowing any context or backstory. Meanwhile, Kate doesn’t care nor see the need to have so many Star Wars and Marvel shows.
