b'Episode Description: Sonny and I pick our Top 10 Live Albums growing up. We discuss why they were important to us, and play some of our favorite tracks from those albums. What’s The Story: Nowadays Live Albums are released all the time. If you are into a band, chances are they have released a live record. Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s live albums were much more of an event. In most cases the bands were already well established and the live album would be released about 4 or 5 records into the bands career. For me growing up and I suspect in a lot of other people’s lives, live albums were a way to check out a band. A greatest hits so to speak. If you liked it, then go down that “rabbit hole” and pick up some of the studio releases. In some artist cases, they owe everything to the live album. Peter Frampton and Kiss come to mind immediately. They were struggling before they released their first live albums. I consider myself much more of a studio track guy, but in my youth, I simply wore out the live albums we will be discussing in this episode.
