Podder Than Hell Podcast Episodes Go To:\\xa0\\xa0 Peter & Paul and Gene & Ace What's The Story? In 1978 Kiss was at the height of their dominance. They could do no wrong, that is until they released Phantom of the Park. The band was imploding from within. The record label and management thought the way to keep the band happy and bring them closer together was to let them all do solo albums. It was a can't lose situation? Um, sure we'll go with that. They each did their solo record and on September 18th, 1978 they all released them at the same time. We get into Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, & Peter Criss's attempt at showing each other who the most important part of Kiss really was in '78.
