Episode 121: Hannah Rae Murphy

b'Hannah Rae Murphy grew up on a small farm in Michigans Upper Peninsula with a large garden, sheep, chickens, pigs and the occasional turkey or goat. Now a Conservation Biology student at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT she is involved in the colleges organic farm and is an RA of the sustainable living house (Weybridge House). Weybridge House buys and preserves food from within a 100 mile radius each summer and fall for consumption throughout the year by the houses 18 residents and many campus community members at free dinners several times each week. Weybridge House aims to highlight the attainability of eating a delicious all-local diet even with time constraints and a budget. She is unsure of her plans for after college, but will likely attend grad school for sustainable agriculture or food studies and return to a farming community as soon as possible.
