This afternoon we will be holding space at multiple locations demanding the following:\n\n1. Cancel the eviction for 897 E Mound Street. (asks are edited for word count)\n\n2. Move all homelessness matters out of the jurisdiction of the Department of Development and to the Department of Public Health. \n\n3. End the Environmental Remediation Contract associated with encampment sweeps. \n\n4. Create a committee to review and revise practices and policies around homelessness. This committee must be inclusive of mutual aid and community organizations that work with this population, as well as folks currently experiencing homelessness. \n\n5. Make space and funding available for an overnight warming center during cold months.\n\nThe camp grew from a warming center we created in order to supplement the woeful inadequate resources for warming centers and inhumane conditions in the homeless shelters across the city. Access to buildings that might be used for warming centers from late fall to early spring would greatly increase the well-being of our most vulnerable populations.\n\nContact: FIRST Collective\n\nEmail: firstcollective614@gmail.com\n\nSocial: https://www.facebook.com/FIRSTCollective614"\n\nwww.first-collective.org\n\nGrassRoot Ohio, Conversations with everyday people working on important issues, here in Columbus and all around Ohio.\nEvery Friday 5:00pm, EST on 94.1FM & streaming worldwide @ WGRN.org,\nSundays at 2:00pm EST on 92.7/98.3 FM and streams @ WCRSFM.org, and Sundays at 4:00pm EST, at 107.1 FM, Wheeling/Moundsville WV on WEJP-LP FM.\nContact Us if you would like GrassRoot Ohio on your local station.\nCheck us out and Like us on Face Book: https://www.facebook.com/GrassRootOhio/\nCheck us out on Instagram:\nhttps://www.instagram.com/grassroot_ohio/\nIf you miss the Friday broadcast, you can find it here: All shows/podcasts archived at SoundCloud! https://soundcloud.com/user-42674753\nGrassRoot Ohio is now on Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/.../grassroot-ohio/id1522559085\nThis GrassRoot Ohio interview can also be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAX2t1Z7_qae803BzDF4PtQ/\nIntro and Exit music for GrassRoot Ohio is "Resilient" by Rising Appalachia: https://youtu.be/tx17RvPMaQ8\nThere's a time to listen and learn, a time to organize and strategize, And a time to Stand Up/ Fight Back!
