Rey Martinez, who took office as mayor of Loganville in 2018, will run as a Republican for the Georgia House District 114 seat. State Rep. Tom Kirby, R-Loganville, has held the seat for nearly a decade but will not seek reelection after his term ends in 2022.
\u201cI want to be the best that I can, like what I\u2019ve done in Loganville here for the last 11 years, and what I try to bring is my energy, my passion (and) my love of service,\u201d Martinez said. \u201cWhat I\u2019ll try to bring is unity and what\u2019s best for our community, country and state.\u201d
