In "The Book on the Floor: Andr\\xe9 Malraux and the Imaginary Museum," art historian Walter Grasskamp takes Malraux\\u2019s work as a launching point to explore Malraux and his contemporary Andr\\xe9 Vigneau, the early history of the illustrated art book, and how Malraux\\u2019s vision for a \\u201cmuseum without walls\\u201d anticipated a new approach to art history that was comparative and global in scope.
