In this episode, we explore the remarkable life of Juan Alvarado, a man whose journey is defined by leadership and resilience. Born in Los Angeles to Mexican migrant farm workers, Juan's childhood was marked by a strong work ethic and dreams of a better future. His natural leadership abilities shone through in school and sports, and he continued to demonstrate these skills throughout his life. After high school, Juan joined the U.S. Army, serving ten years, including deployments to Kuwait and Iraq. However, his true passion lay in mentoring youth, leading him to a career shift.

Juan's dedication to helping young people flourished as he worked with various student groups at a nonprofit in Reedley, California. He quickly advanced from Site Lead at local middle schools to Director of After School Programs (ASP), inspiring both students and staff with his values-driven approach. Beyond his professional achievements, Juan faced personal challenges, including a battle with PTSD. His journey of overcoming adversity, supported by his wife Rebecca and mentors, not only strengthened his family bonds but also fueled his professional success. This experience led to the creation of his first book and the establishment of Raize The Bar LLC, where Juan continues to inspire and develop leaders, transforming individual and team potential.
