Society shapes us in many ways, possibly more than we realize, and sadly can tend to change our behaviors in a negative way. As it's a topic that isn’t often discussed and seen as taboo, we wanted to talk about one of the mental health illnesses with the highest mortality rate: eating disorders.  In this episode, I've interviewed Laurianne, a young athlete and ex-professional gymnast who opens the doors on her tough story. When it started, the ups and the downs, to finally find a way to enjoy life again. From reducing food intake to extreme overeating, your relationship with food can destroy not only your body and face, but also your life. But eating disorders don't define you as a person, they come from a lack of something, most of the time; from a lack of love. That's why is so important to learn to love yourself first, to fill this empty feeling in your body, in order to finally heal. This podcast was hard to make and we hope that Lauri's story can help someone out there to feel less alone, ashamed, and in the dark. But we are not doctors. Please reach out for help if you or anyone you know has been affected by the issues in this podcast.
