From shy child to performer, storyteller, narrator, producer and actor!

Kris Keppeler was a painfully shy child who loved to sing and longed to be in school musicals. But she was told by her high school choir teacher that she had an awful voice! Kris kept at it, and had some success, but after junior college she quit singing! She joined the ranks of corporate employees, until she couldn't ignore the yearning to sing any longer. Kris hired a voice teacher who discovered Kris actually had a lovely voice, but she had been "misdiagnosed" as a mezzo soprano when she is really a first soprano! Kris learned how to sing opera and her creative career took off, she even has an IMDB page! Kris expanded her range to writing business blogs and satire, performing her own material in a one-woman show, doing e-learning, video game and explainer video voiceovers, narrating and producing audio books, and has her own blog and podcast, "Does This Happen to You?" Kris is nominated for Outstanding Storytelling Best Performance at the 2017 SOVAS Awards in NYC, this weekend! Tune in to hear her journey of persistence despite discouragement to fun and rewarding work!
