\\nVictor LaValle is the author of three novels, a collection of stories and two novellas. His most recent novella The Ballad of Black Tom\\xa0was recently published by Tor. He has won the Shirley Jackson Award and an American Book Award among other awards for his novel Big Machine. He teaches at Columbia University.
