The Brothers Grimm (die Br\\xfcder Grimm or die Gebr\\xfcder Grimm), Jacob (1785\\u20131863) and Wilhelm (1786\\u20131859), were German academics, philologists, cultural researchers, lexicographers, and authors who together specialized in collecting and publishing folklore during the 19th century.

\\n

They were among the best-known storytellers of folk tales, and popularized stories such as "Cinderella" ("Aschenputtel"), "The Frog Prince" ("Der Froschk\\xf6nig"), "Hansel and Gretel" ("H\\xe4nsel und Gretel"), "Rapunzel", "Rumpelstiltskin" ("Rumpelstilzchen"), "Sleeping Beauty" ("Dornr\\xf6schen"), and "Snow White" ("Schneewittchen"). Their first collection of folk tales, Children\'s and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausm\\xe4rchen), began publication in 1812.
