The Apophis asteroid, (a 1,210 foot-diameter rock) is due to arrive in the vicinity of the Earth in 2029. NASA has deemed it a \u2018Potentially Hazardous Asteroid\u2019, but is confident that it is \u2018highly unlikely\u2019 that the asteroid will hit the planet.
