Joining us today is Katie Silversmith, Founding Partner of ThriveCo, a personalized co-working space located in Clayton, MO. Entrepreneurship and a passion for helping others have been in Katie's blood since childhood. Katie completed her Masters' of Social Work at Washington University, St. Louis, and in 2018, Katie and her husband Alex opened ThriveCo with one goal in mind - To help small businesses succeed.   In this episode: Katie tells us about growing up in St. Louis and fills us in on some of her earliest business ventures. Katie says as a child, she loved making and inventing and spent a lot of time selling those things door-to-door. Katie says that entrepreneurially thinking to her means having a 'the shy is the limit' mentality. Katie speaks of her lifelong passion for helping others through operations and building communities. Katie explains how ThriveCo works and who she intends to help through having a place for small businesses and entrepreneurs to connect with each other. Katie says that ThriveCo offers a unique 'wrap-around' model service that no other co-working space in St. Louis offers. Katie talks about how Covid-19 has had an impact on ThriveCo. Katie says that the space has remained open through COVID and that she enjoys giving her tenants advice on how to succeed even in the hardest of times. Katie gives us advice on her take on entrepreneurship and says it's important to get out of your own way and to connect with other small businesses and entrepreneurs on social media.
