This bible study group discusses the Old Testament book of Ezra. Ezra is a book about the re-building of God\u2019s Altar and Temple in Jerusalem. We are God\u2019s temple and are encouraged in Romans 12:1 to: \u201c\u2026present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.\u201d We see that the Israelites, willingly returned to rebuild the altar and temple, were frustrated for many years by their enemies from finishing the work, and finally complete the work, only to fall back into committing the same abominations and sacrilege that led to their 70 years of captivity. This demonstrates that we cannot in our own strength and power keep our commitments to God. We need salvation, redemption, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
