This week's guest is Gary Jubelin. Gary worked in the NSW Police Force for 34 years and was one of Australia\u2019s most well known homicide detectives, leading investigations into several high profile murders and disappearances.\n\nThis episode is a bit heavier than usual and contains conversations that some listeners may find confronting or triggering. Because of the nature of Gary\u2019s work we discuss missing persons as well as murder, including the murder of young children. So everyone please be kind to yourselves and keep your own boundaries in mind before listening to this one.\n\nGary lead the investigation into the disappearance of William Tyrell, the serial killing of three aboriginal children in Bowraville, he ran the crime scene following the Lindt Cafe siege in Sydney, has investigated organised crimes and gangs, is most well known for his work solving missing person cold cases, and was even the inspiration for a main character in one of the Underbelly TV series seasons.\n\nGary eventually resigned from the Police Force after allegations of misconduct had him removed from the William Tyrell case and he was later found guilty of illegally recording conversations with a witness.\n\nGary has a book out and a podcast both called I Catch Killers, which I\u2019d highly recommend, it\u2019s one of my most listened to and it\u2019s super interesting if you love true crime. He interviews other high profile detectives as well as people on the other side of the coin that have committed some of these crimes.\n\nWe cover all of these topics, including how he goes about solving such complex crimes, his work ethic and the rigours of being a detective, the pressures of becoming a high profile cop.\n\nThis was a really interesting and different chat that I\u2019m really proud of and excited for you to listen to, I think you\u2019ll get a lot out of it.
