Intersex is the naturally occuring phenomenon when a person is born with both male and female genital identification. The medical vision was to intervene as early as possible with intensive surgery. Is this the right way to go? What is the life experience of intersex people and what is the best government policy?

In this episode we talk to Dr. Tanya Ni Mhuirthile who researches the lived experience of Intersex in Ireland.  This research is part of a pan-European research project and is highly needed as no longterm research has been done in this area.
