Now, taking Covid\\xa0into consideration, it's even worse.\\n\\nOnce a female-dominated industry, males now account for more than 12% of U.S.\\xa0nurses.\\xa0Men thinking of becoming a\\xa0nurse\\xa0can count on career stability, competitive pay, a flexible schedule, and travel opportunities \\u2013 no longer with the stigma attached. We will discuss why men are more frequently pursuing a career in\\xa0nursing, discuss the most popular specialties, and offer tips and resources for those interested in the profession.\\n\\nWe will also discusss what\\u2019s happening in higher education and\\xa0nursing, including an increasing\\xa0nursing\\xa0shortage, why should people consider a career in\\xa0nursing\\xa0despite the challenges (COVID, overflowing hospitals, etc.) and other topics.\\xa0\\n\\nDr. W. Dunne has been a registered\\n\\nnurse for more than 22 years and have had a diverse range of nursing practice,\\n\\neducation and leadership experience within health care and nursing education. His\\n\\nprevious roles have included, Nursing Administrator, Dean of Health Sciences, Dean of\\n\\nNursing, Associate Dean of Nursing, Campus President, and Senior Director of Campus\\n\\nOperations."
