Is it a Conservative Value to Suppress the Rights of People

Published: Oct. 25, 2020, 3:04 p.m.

Today, people are self-governed. That means we elect or choose our leaders. In Biblical times, God appointed leaders by speaking through Prophets and directing them to whom to appoint. God doesn’t speak through prophets today to dictate the choice of leaders. People choose their leaders. Is it a right to choose our leaders? Who declared conservativeness as a human value that is better than any other? And that that said value is ordained and sanctioned by God? The values of faith, family, love of country and worship of God are human values, not confined to conservatism. Using conservativeness to suppress people’s rights to abortion, and choosing a partner is the suppression of human rights. Just like using conservativeness to defend voter suppression is the suppression of people’s rights to choose a leader. God has nothing to do with that.

---

Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/harrietcammock/message
Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/harrietcammock/support
