Notes: SS-FF was collected from Lewis Lamb of Paint Lick, Kentucky in 1975. Lewis learned this story from a co-worker on a construction project in Cincinnati, Ohio back in the 1940\\u2019s but, in retelling the tale he changed it from a horse to a dog.
