I spoke to Craig Camp and Clara Hembree of the Maheekats, the self-prescribed\\xa0 "haunting dream rock" duo from Santa Barbara, California who formed in 1999.
Their sound is characterized by their surreal lyrics, lush vocals, edgy, post punk, psychedelic and progressive influences and use of sonic experimentation.

Their first album "God Has A Cadillac Too" was released on December 31, 2001. Their second album released in 2012 was called "Phosphorus Man" and their third album, "Songs From The Woods" was released in 2016. You can find their music on Bandcamp and their videos on You Tube, Facebook and Instagram.

The latest single from the Maheekats called "Honey Bunny" premiered on my show, The Queen of Wands Radio Show on Modsnap Radio, San Antonio and on A Feast of Friends on KTUH 90.1 FM Honolulu. Honey Bunny is produced by the legendary producer John Fryer (This Mortal Coil, 4AD, Black Needle Noise) with Fredo Ortiz (Beastie Boys, Gogol Bordello, The Offspring) who contributed his drumming to the song. The drums were recorded by Paul DuGr\\xe9 (Paul And Mike\\u2019s Recording, LA). Guest singer/rapper in the bridge section was Fega Michaels all the way from Nigeria who was added to the mix.\\xa0 Check then out at https://torchedmagazine.com with Judy Lyon.\\xa0
