007 3 Helpful Narration Warm-Ups

Got Mushmouth?
\nI didn't plan to record this episode today, but I was struggling with this very problem this morning.
\n
\nSometimes, you just can't get the words out of your mouth in a way that sounds convincing. Today, I was stumbling on simple phrases, sounded like I was reading, and just couldn't get my brain to connect with the script.
\n
\nWarm-ups to the rescue!
\n
\nHonestly, I don't warm up as much as I should. A narrator should warm up every day before they start into scripts.
\n
\nIt doesn't hurt to knock off the rust from the night and get the muscles synced up. It might also have the added benefit of helping you smooth out those word combinations that you struggle with.
\n
\nHere are a few warm-ups that I use when I'm stuck in a rut and need get my\xa0mouth in gear!
\nIn this episode, I discuss:
\n
\n \t* How warm-ups can do more than just warm up your muscles.
\n \t* Reading like a kindergartener
\n \t* Elvis?
\n \t* Emphasis exercises
\n
\nReferences and stuff:
\n
\n \t* V-Oh!
\n \t* Tongue Twisters and Vocal Warm-Ups
\n \t* Tongue Twisters in this episode:
\n
\n \t* Six slippery snails, slid slowly seaward.
\n \t* Pad kid poured curd pulled cod
\n \t* The sixth sick sheikh's sixth sheep's sick
\n \t* Oh what to-do to die today at a minute or two 'til two A thing distinctly hard to say yet harder still to do For they'll beat a tattoo at twenty to two With a rattatta tattatta tattatta too And the dragon will come when he hears the drum At a minute or two 'til two today At a minute or two 'til two.
