The Colorado Supreme Court removed former President Donald Trump from the state\\u2019s 2024 presidential ballot on Tuesday after ruling that he engaged in an insurrection with his actions on January 6, 2021.

The 4-3 ruling will be placed on hold pending appeal until January 4, the Court said in its ruling.

\\u201cA majority of the court holds that President Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution,\\u201d the ruling said. \\u201cBecause he is disqualified, it would be a wrongful act under the Election Code for the Colorado Secretary of State to list him as a candidate on the presidential primary ballot.\\u201d

The Trump campaign responded to the ruling by saying that they would \\u201cswiftly file an appeal,\\u201d calling it \\u201ca completely flawed decision\\u201d that was \\u201cdeeply undemocratic.\\u201d

\\u201cWe have full confidence that the U.S. Supreme Court will quickly rule in our favor and finally put an end to these unAmerican lawsuits,\\u201d a spokesperson for the campaign said.
