Mambo Mania! on the DRR Show this week...what does this mean? Is Mickey heading to Cuba for a meeting with Fidel? I don't think so.....we don't subscribe to the cigar smoking dictators manifesto.....Mambo flavored songs peppered throughout the show tonight starting with Link Wray's "Mary Ann" on the Epic label from 1960...you know that Link is God in the DRR Studio not Lemmy as repor...ted by the Onion Radio News awhile back....The king of all things that crunch [Link Wray] keeps the vibe going with Bull Dawg from around 1989...amazing thing is that Link recording in the 80's isn't much different than Link in the 60's..with the sh*tty sounding 80's production...wow I just sounded like Senator Levin from Michigan who sounded like a 6th grader who had his parents ok to curse...what a dick that guys is....oops...did I type that aloud? Will Burch's new book "Ian Dury: The Definitive Biography" is out and it's a pisser so we'll end up the first set of music with the classic "Sex & Drugs & R&R"...God it's a great song and the Blockheads, I submit to you, are one of the funkiest bunch of misfits that ever graced a studio....well...alot of new 45's bought at the Record Riot last Sunday will get some spins also......listen in .... we're lo-cal and 110% Grade A Rock & Roll...
