Supreme Court Issues Major Win for Common Sense
Affirmative action took a major blow Thursday. The Supreme Court ruled that universities can no longer give preferential treatment to black students over other races\u2014or preferential treatment to any race, for that matter. It will bring back a degree of \u201ccolorblindness\u201d where the color of a person\u2019s skin can no longer be used as a factor to decide whether a student\u2019s enrollment is accepted or denied.
In other words, race no longer matters\u2014at least not if the federal government is involved. And if a university denies an Asian or white student because of their race, well that\u2019s still racism. And not only that, but it may even be illegal.
