Meanwhile, a Chinese fighter plane was taken down by a flock of birds on October 5. Videos of the incident were released by Chinese state media. During an air combat training exercise of the China Southern Theater Air Force, a flock of birds flew over the right side of a low flying jet\u2019s fuselage, and as birds struck the aircraft its engine lost power.
